Johannesburg – Dove’s Nest

Johannesburg has always had a bad reputation for personal safety and high crime.  My past experiences have always been good in Joburg and fingers were crossed that good luck would reign.  We found a lovely place near the airport where Skye and Willow befriended the owners 4 year old grand- daughter.  We chose it off the list of places the Baz Bus uses and it was fantastic especially the owners Game and Maria.  They had 2 rabbits, Clover and Blackie, so we lost our youngest two whenever we were ‘at home’.  Our room fit the five of us and inexplicably had three separate toilets as well which was great in the mornings….

We would not hesitate to recommend Dove’s Nest.

Trouble…

Dove’s Nest gardens were nice and had a swing for kids and a treehouse.
It was callled Dove’s Nest because they had a massive birdhouse. We got there when the babies were hatching. The birds were released each afternoon and one chap had to stand on the Guesthouse roof waving a big flag. If he didn’t the birds would be lazy and go straight home. Not sure who got more exercise – the birds r the man with the flag.
Our planning area….
This is where all the travel plans and occasional homework happened. Fantastic….
