Our last night in the lovely valley was fun….until the morning! We got back from horseback riding to find another 2 trucks each with 4 Aussie couples from Eternal Landscapes as well as the co-owner, Jess. This was for the annual first milking of the mares. The morning had an hour or so ceremony which involved a lot of beer and vodka. Neighbours came from around the valley, and all seemed to like my beard. The 2 younger girls were in a traditional foot race and were first and second!
The evening was filled with fresh mutton (mmmm mutton), Mongolian beer and vodka. Jess had said they will pick on one of the men and I was it….it was a hoot and all of us were having a good time until the wheels came off. This was also the part where I forgot how low the doors are on the gers….Looks like I will have a black eye for a while.
“I am never drinking again” was announced the following morning…..
Yeah right….
Don’t let the door hit you on the way out! 🙂
It was a crazy night. 8 Aussies over sixty who were keen to have fun. Another Aussie with his family broke his finger that night so I got off easy…bruised head and ego.
