Skye’s Mongolia

The great Khan

Our website is serving many purposes.  One purpose is so the kids can look back in later years and see a chronicle of their grand adventure.   Skye has her own camera ( thanx Uncle Jon), and has taken many pix.

First day rock formations

So many kites, eagles, vultures and falcons.

Our beast van in the distance

Old man

Skye’s favourite – diamond vision pix

The other sky. A much quiter one.

Got a family concert in the weather office by the weather guy, and a young lad who was playing the Mongolian 2 string horse-head fiddle

Flaming cliffs where lots of dinosaur fossils have been found

Sunsets are glorious albeit around 9:30-10:00

Last drive day – van broke down but Unuruu fixed the sheared off bolt in the steering with chain etc until we found a town where he could weld things. Most of our 16 days were on dirt roads and only Unuruu knew where to go ( and even he got lost sometimes). Not a place to self drive

Last view of the horses. They run free and are just herded in the summer then off on their own again. We were never quite sure the rules of ownership….
Back to Ulaan Bataar and goodbye nature…
UB is a nutty, sprawling city of over one million – there are only three million in the whole county.

Then it was goodbye to our van, Little Pineapple and our guide Pujee and driver Unuruu.
